Bayasanghori Shahnameh

The Shahnameh, written by Ferdowsi, is the most famous masterpiece in Persian poetry in Iran which is always compared with the great epic poetry of the world such as Iliad and Homer's Odyssey. The book was an inspiration for Persian Artists to translate the words into pictures. One of the best examples of this illustration, I mean Persian Miniature, is Bayasanghori Shahnameh.

Bayasanghori Shahnameh

Bayasanghori Shahnameh is an exquisite, unique and, of course, an illustrated Shahnameh prepared by Prince Baysonghor Mirza and thus known as Bayasanghori Shahnameh. Bayasanghori Shahnameh has many features that have made it a worldwide celebrity. For example, this book is one of the most complete and intact examples of Shahnameh in the world, the sheets of which are not separated and are all kept in a single collection. One of the most striking aspects of this book is the elegance of the book and the charm of Shahnameh paintings drawn in Herat School. The poems of this Shahnameh are poorly written, although written in a good script. Because they are one of the earliest examples of writing with the pen of Nastaliq, which of course adds another value to the Shahnameh. The sheets of the book are also full of illumination and painting, and have spent a great deal of time on art, volume, art.

Another distinctive feature of the Bayasanghori Shahnameh is its different and detailed introduction. Bayasanghori, one of the most accomplished of the Timurid princes, ordered the collection of manuscripts of the Shahnameh. Then, by combining all the previous introductions, a new introduction to the Shahnameh was prepared. Although professionally this introduction has weaknesses, it has two advantages, since its collection has gained worldwide recognition and popularity of Shahnameh books.

Bayasanghori Shahnameh

Bayasanghori Shahnameh is one of the most precious and important versions of Shahnameh. It is unique in its illumination and decoration. This edition has been collected on the order of Baysonghor Mirza and is now held at the Golestan Museum Palace, Tehran, and it is on Iran Memory of the World list.
